Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly am I purchasing?

You are purchasing a high-resolution, digitally restored, and colourised JPEG image file (typically at 300 DPI, exceeding 4000px on the longest edge). This file is perfect for self-printing, canvas mounting, or framing at A4, A3, or A2 sizes.

Are these images original historical photographs?

Yes. The original source files are historical black-and-white photographs (out of copyright due to their age). We restore them digitally, clearing up scratches, enhancing clarity, and colourising them to reflect original historical details.

How is pricing determined?

Pricing is set individually for each photograph depending on its rarity, size, and the level of restoration and colourisation detail required. The price of each print is shown directly on its card. The shopping folder automatically sums these individual prices upon checkout.

What is the "Digital Signature" or fingerprint?

To preserve the integrity and track the distribution of our digital prints, the server embeds a unique digital certification directly inside the EXIF metadata of the file. This metadata records the license owner (your email) and purchase transaction ID, acting as a certificate of authenticity.

Can I use these images commercially?

No. The default purchase covers a personal use license (printing for display in your home or office, gifting, or desktop background use). For editorial or commercial publishing licenses, please contact us directly via our Contact page.

How do I receive my purchased files?

Immediately after successful checkout via Stripe, you will be redirected to our confirmation page displaying instant download buttons. A copy of the download links will also be sent to the email address you provided at checkout.
